Corner cube prism(also say Retro-reflectors), it has three mutually perpendicular reflecting surfaces, like the corners of a cube. Light entering a retro-reflector is reflected back 180°, and parallel to the original beam, regardless of its orientation to the beam. This makes retro-reflectors valuable for applications requiring exactly 180° reflection without having to precisely orient the prism. The reflected images are both inverted and reversed. As a result, corner cube prisms are ideal where precision alignment is difficult or time-consuming. They feature three total internal reflections and will function even at very large angles of incidence. For its special characteristics, it is often used in the distance measurement, optical signal processing and laser applications etc.
